Modalities

Supporting your individual needs with a combination of somatic and experiential based modalities.

  • Polyvagal Theory describes the nervous system as having three subdivisions that are responsible for behavior and social connection. It sheds light on how stress and trauma impact your behaviors and relationships, while guiding you in self-regulation and fostering resilience for creating safety and wellbeing.

  • IFS recognises the multifaceted nature of your inner world. It helps you navigate your internal system of parts, fostering self-awareness, acceptance, and integration. By cultivating curiosity and compassion for these parts, IFS supports your healing, growth, and journey towards wholeness.

  • Somatic Experiencing recognises that trauma is stored in the body and focuses on releasing trapped energy and promoting self-regulation. Through gentle exploration and awareness of your bodily sensations, Somatic Experiencing helps you renegotiate and integrate your traumatic experiences.

  • Sensorimotor psychotherapy is a body-centered approach to therapy that integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, and movement to address trauma, emotional issues, and early attachment patterns. It focuses on how the body stores and processes traumatic experiences, aiming to build your inner resources to regulate emotions, and promote healing.

  • The Hakomi Method is a form of experiential psychotherapy that integrates mindfulness and somatic interventions to heal attachment wounds and developmental trauma. By exploring present-moment content through the use of mindfulness, Hakomi seeks to rewire implicit memories, reorganise and reconsolidate our formative experiences.
